How Does Our Spokane Valley Pest Control Service Work?

Bi-monthly Service

Our most popular pest control service is our bi-monthly plan, proudly serving Spokane Valley. This plan is designed to tackle common Northwest pests, including ants, spiders, wasps, mice, and more.

Here’s how it works:

1. Initial Treatment
After we schedule a time that works best for you, we’ll perform an initial pest treatment. Depending on the specific pest issues you’re facing, the treatment may vary slightly, but typically includes:
  – Sweeping eaves, windows, and doors to remove spider webs.
  – Treating your foundation to eliminate active pests and establish a protective barrier around your home.

2. Protective Barrier
Our pest professional will apply a liquid insecticide to create a barrier around your home—treating your eaves, windows, doors, and the entire foundation (3 feet up and 3 feet out). We’ll also ask to enter your home to treat baseboards inside and create a full protective barrier. (inside is always optional) This prevents pests from entering your home and keeps your property protected.

3. Mice Control
If you opt for mice control, we’ll set up child and pet proof bait stations around your property to stop mice before they can infest your home.

4. Ongoing Protection
Your next service is exactly 2 months later, and you can count on us to arrive on time and keep your home pest-free. We never miss a service!

5. If Pest Come Back, So Do We!
If in between service dates a pest issue arises, a pest professional will come back free of charge to take care of it.

Our bi-monthly service plan is the best way to stay ahead of pests year-round in Spokane Valley!

One-time Service

Sometimes, to best serve our community, offering one-time services is the best thing to do. These are the five most popular one-time solutions

1. Ant Elimination
Oftentimes complete ant control requires a pest control professional. Pest Pros use products with a transferable effect. This means that when ants come into contact with the product, they’ll spread it to others they encounter, eventually affecting the whole colony. This process typically involves a treatment of baseboards inside the home and around the entire homes’ foundation.

2. Spider Spray
When spraying for spiders you want to use a product formulated as a controlled release insecticide. This keeps the strength of the products higher for a longer period of time, allowing for spiders to make their way out of hiding, walking over the product and dying. The spider spray process typically consists of removal of webs around the home from top to bottom and insecticide sprays on eaves, around windows, and the foundation.

3. Wasp Removal
Although fairly straightforward, wasp removal can be very dangerous. Depending on size and location of the nest, treatment usually consists of a kill on spot insecticide spray or residual spray. Followed by knocking down the nest, bagging it up, and hauling it away. Last but not least, treatment of areas conducive to wasp to keep any new one from reestablishing.

4. Mice Protection
Typically mice control will consist of setting up child and pet proof bait stations around your home to stop the mice from entering. Followed by baiting the crawlspace to get any mice that have already moved inside. Follow-up services occur every 2 weeks to refresh the bait until the mice have been eliminated. (Typically 6-8 weeks.)

5. Bed Bug Treatments
Bed bugs are the nastiest and hardest pests to get rid of. Treatment of bed bugs typically consists of liquid insecticide sprays in areas conducive to bed bug hiding. (Mattresses, Box Springs, Baseboards, Couches, Etc.) Bed bug services take 2-3 treatments spaced 30 days apart. This allows enough time for bed bugs to come out of hiding and die.

Common Pests In Spokane Valley, Washington

Ant control In Spokane Valley

The ants go marching one by one…

Ants are one of the most common reasons people call a pest control company and that’s no exception in Spokane Valley. That’s because they are some of the hardest pests to get rid of. Ants have many unique characteristics and abilities that make it nearly impossible to eliminate them yourself. That being said, Spud Pest has the knowledge and equipment to eliminate the entire colony!

Spider control In Spokane Valley

Few things cause nightmares like these

We’ve said it once and we’ll say it again, spiders are some of the creepiest pests out there. There are a ton of species here in Spokane Valley, including the infamous black widow! Spiders’ ability to go unnoticed and then come out in bunches is very impressive. Luckily Spud Pest Control has no problem eliminating them for good!

Stinging things that rule your eaves

Being parents ourselves, it’s one of the worst feelings to have your child run in from outside screaming, because they were stung by a yellow jacket. Customer Success Story From A Spokane Valley Local

Mice Takeover!

Mice can wreak havoc on homes and food. Which is exactly what happened to this Spokane Valley Customer.

Problem:

When we first arrived on site the homeowner had every single wall lined with mice sticky traps and snap traps but it just wasn’t working. She even cleaned her entire house from top to bottom and stored all of her food properly. Unfortunately, the mice problem had already gotten so bad this was also ineffective.

Solution:

This is when we stepped in with our professional pest control services. After further inspection of the home, it was obvious that the mice were active on all 3 floors. We then proceeded to set up a total of 9 bait boxes! 4 large child and pet-proof boxes outside and 5 smaller ones inside. In each of the boxes, we placed 2 different kinds of bait. (sometimes mice prefer one over the other) We placed the bait boxes in areas with high mouse activity, making sure to put them up against the wall. (mice feel safe when they have something to run up against, making the wall the perfect mice highway)

Results:

At our first follow-up 2 weeks later, there was ZERO bait left! We continued following up and refilling baits for about 8 weeks until no new activity was found! Another pest control problem solved!

Though Spokane Valley’s upsides drastically outweigh its downsides, it still has a few. One is the constant pressure from pests. Some of the most common pests are: Spiders, Ants, Wasps, Mice, and even Bed Bugs! In Spokane Valley, we get all four seasons, which means the need for Pest Control Service is never-ending. During the spring is when the ant season hits its peak. Ants are some of the hardest pests for homeowners to get rid of. To control ants long-term, we use products with a transferable effect. Unlike typical over-the-counter ant killers, these products don’t kill ants instantly. Instead, ants pick up the product and spread it throughout the colony, ensuring complete eradication. Many times a call to a pest control professional is the easiest and fastest way to get rid of ants for good. Spring leads us into summer where wasps wreak havoc on people’s parties and BBQs. Sometimes nests in Spokane Valley can get so large that they hold 1000’s of wasps or hornets. Removal of these massive nests can be dangerous and sometimes requires a pest professional. Especially if you are allergic! Summer fades us into fall where spiders rear their ugly heads, coming out of the woodworks by the hundreds! If you’re lucky you won’t see the infamous Black Widow. The Black Widow is one of the most poisonous spiders we have in Spokane Valley. The good thing is, if you have regular pest control service keeping spiders at bay you definitely won’t come across one. As the colder weather approaches and we seek the warmth of our homes, so do the mice! In Spokane Valley, it’s not a matter of IF you get mice, it’s WHEN. As pest control professionals we use rodent bait stations (a safe way to use mice bait without a risk of exposing kids or pets to it) and rodenticides to ensure that your house doesn’t become their home!

We service all of Spokane Valley including the following neighborhoods: Veradale, Dishman, Greenacres, Ponderosa, Opportunity, Chester, Mica, Pasadena Park, Otis Orchards, Saltese, Northwood, East Farms, Trentwood, and Millwood.
